i have many missions in life but one is to educate the masses about music that is pure art and making a difference in the world. with the deregulation of corporate media and the advent of clear channel communications the traditional radio has tremendously suffered. capitalism is supposedly in existence to give people as many opportunities and options the market will allow. but when capitalism becomes unchecked, consolidation occurs and eventually leads to systems with no choice and no diversity. in essence, it becomes something very similar to communism. i truly hope the masses rise up and defeat the corporate kaisers that oppress you and me with the horrible music that is forced down our throats by the marketing campaigns of today's media giants. and i hope to be a minor player in this underground revolution. on dark shapes podcast you will hear music that is hopefully new to you. sometimes it's even new to me. but most importantly, it's just damn good music. some of my favorite artists are wilco, super furry animals, bob dylan, big star, mott the hoople, t. rex, uncle tupelo, lou reed, waylon jennings, hank williams sr., the byrds, curtis mayfield, david bowie, elliott smith, the flaming lips, iggy pop, the stooges, neutral milk hotel, pavement, outkast, etc.. i hope you get the picture. but my no means is the dark shapes podcast limited to the above artists. listen up, enjoy, and expect a new podcast every 5 to 7 days.
